(Bloomberg Business Week, 2012) First Week Journal The finance-accounting internship position included responsibilities such as assisting with month-end financial reporting, posting journal entries, assisting with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation. Managing and organizing financial information. Included generation of reports and spreadsheets. The duties of this first week involved the need to ask many questions and learning of technical skills related to finance. The first weeks work was in the companys sales department. This involved assisting new clients in opening their accounts. This was an interesting aspect of this job as I was able to meet new people and assist them with their financial accounting needs. During this first week I assisted various individuals opening accounts and they were individuals of all ages with some of them being younger individuals just beginning their careers and others being more established individuals planning their retirements and even others being those of an advanced aged who needed to rearrange their assets during their retirement years.
